Lake Houston
If you love water sports, Lake Houston will draw you in like a
magnet. Fishing tournaments are held frequently, especially in the
summer. You can also enjoy boating, water skiing, and jet
skiing. At the northern end of the lake, Lake Houston Park also has
facilities for camping and hiking.*
Lake Livingston
There's something for everyone at Lake Livingston. Bring a
picnic and enjoy a day of boating on the 84,800-acre reservoir. Or
take your fishing pole along and try your luck at catching crappie,
perch, catfish, bass or sunfish. If camping and hiking are more to
your liking, you'll find guided nature hikes, mountain biking and
plenty of space to experience the great outdoors. There's even a
day-use equestrian park with horses to ride at the Lake Livingston
stables.*
What awaits beyond the trees.
Under a canopy of pines, oaks and maples, you really feel like you're in your own secluded world. But the truth of the matter is, all of Houston, the country's fourth largest city, is just 20 miles away. So you can go out and explore, work or play, and be back home in no time.
